Introducing Giuseppe Cipriani, the newest addition to the Beyco family, who is set to take on the role of Business Development Lead. Giuseppe’s mission is clear: to build a thriving and vibrant network of producers and buyers, all while ensuring that farmers receive the recognition and rewards they rightfully deserve for their exceptional products.

Originally from Genoa, Italy, he spent most of his adult life in the Netherlands. Giuseppe’s academic background is a testament to his diverse interests. With studies in neurosciences, political sciences, and international economics, he initially charted a course quite different from the world of coffee. However, Giuseppe’s passion for coffee began to brew. He delved into sensory analysis, and cupping, and eventually embarked on barista training. But he didn’t stop there. Giuseppe went on to explore the world of agronomy, effectively transforming his passion into his profession.

Giuseppe’s career has seen him travel the globe, initially as a photo reporter with publications featured in renowned magazines like National Geographic and others. His travels and experiences shaped his perspective on sustainability, particularly in agriculture and forestry. His journey then led him to UTZ/Rainforest Alliance, where he dedicated his efforts to coffee and cocoa certification, documenting sustainability practices throughout the supply chain, and providing essential training and communication materials. He also directed documentaries addressing critical issues like child labor remediation and agroforestry, utilizing cutting-edge drone technology for storytelling and data visualization. Beyond that, Giuseppe dedicated his time to developing educational games that support the objectives of developmental projects.

When asked about his decision to join Progreso, Giuseppe emphasized the pivotal role of traceability in empowering farmers within the coffee and cocoa industry. He firmly believes that Beyco can equip farmers with the tools and knowledge needed to enhance their farming practices and, in turn, negotiate better terms for themselves.

In welcoming Giuseppe Cipriani to the Beyco team, we are thrilled to have an individual with such a deep passion for coffee and cocoa, a commitment to sustainability, and a vision for a more equitable future for farmers.
