The Mt Rwenzori Coffee Farmers’ Cooperative Union is located in the Kasese district, in the Rwenzori region of western Uganda. MRCFCU was founded in 2014 and formally registered in 2018. It currently consists of 25 primary societies and local groups, with 1,254 active members who are dedicated to the production of coffee.
With support from Progreso MRCFCU is strengthening its capacity, has become Fairtrade certified, has built micro washing stations and is preparing to direct export high-quality coffee.
