For more than 25 years, ASOCOPE has been working with farming communities in the Cesar region of Colombia, currently reaching 305 producers. The association brings together smallholder farmers who produce and transform both cocoa and coffee, with a shared vision of creating stronger and more sustainable agricultural value chains.

ASOCOPE is a mixed association, with women representing 40% of its membership and men 60%. Since 2022, its board of directors has been made up entirely of women — a powerful reflection of the growing role of women in agricultural leadership. All members are smallholder farmers and people affected by the armed conflict.

At the heart of ASOCOPE’s work is a simple ambition: for the world to know, value and appreciate what its farmers produce. The organization promotes direct commercialization and greater participation of farmers in the agribusiness sector, helping producers capture more value from their products.

Through solidarity, equality and collective action, ASOCOPE works to improve the social, cultural and economic conditions of its members while strengthening the viability and sustainability of the cocoa and coffee sectors.

Its story is one of farmer leadership, resilience and the belief that stronger producers and fairer markets can create lasting change in rural communities.
