For three generations, the Albir family has been connected to coffee production in Nicaragua. Founded by sisters Ana and Martha Albir, Cafetos de Segovia combines this family heritage with innovation and a commitment to building transparent, long-term relationships with coffee producers and buyers.
Based in Mozonte, Nueva Segovia, the company operates its own dry mill, where it processes specialty Arabica coffees primarily sourced from the mountainous Dipilto–Jalapa region. Its coffees are known for their quality, diverse varieties and distinctive cup profiles, generally scoring between 83 and 90 points.
Cafetos de Segovia works with varieties including Maragogype, Catuaí, Bourbon, Pacamara, Maracaturra and Catimor. Traditional methods are combined with innovative processing techniques to bring out the unique characteristics of each coffee while maintaining consistent quality.
The company maintains long-term relationships with family farms and partner producers across Nueva Segovia. Its support extends throughout the coffee cycle, from farm management and cultivation to harvesting, with ongoing advice focused on improving quality and consistency.
At its Mozonte dry mill, coffee goes through careful sorting, selection, fermentation where appropriate, drying, quality control, storage, milling and packaging. Cafetos de Segovia exports its specialty coffees to international markets and has a commercial presence in 14 countries.
Sustainability and responsible farming are also central to its approach. By combining environmental stewardship with producer support and quality-focused processing, Cafetos de Segovia aims to build lasting value throughout the coffee chain — while carrying forward a family tradition that spans three generations.
