Nsangi Coffee Farmers Association (NCFA) is a community based association registered in 2005 and is located in Maya town, Nsangi Sub-county, Wakiso district. The association is involved in coffee farming, bringing farmers together, guiding them towards improved farming and helping them to access markets for their Coffee. NCFA has promoted coffee production in almost all the sub counties in Wakiso district.
Currently, the association has a membership of over 700 coffee farmers from which it collects coffee which it takes for processing to third party processors before selling it off to a sole coffee exporter based in Kampala. The association works hand in hand with the Uganda Coffee Development Authority (UCDA) and it is a member of the National Union of Coffee Agribusiness and Farm Enterprises (NUCAFE). Besides coffee, the association undertakes other income generating activities like selling coffee plantlets to members and hiring its truck for transport services.
Over the last 2 years, the association has registered a substantial improvement in sales due to the increase in membership and supply of quality plantlets to the farmers. This trend is likely to improve further when the association acquires its own processing machinery.
Harvest period: March to June (First season) and December to January (second season).
