MIDCA analysis workshop
12 April 2011, Moyobamba, Peru
Per Progreso’s request, Peruvian consultants from Capirona (www.capirona.org) conducted a two-day workshop in Moyobamba, Peru on organizational analysis using Progreso’s MIDCA-model. The MIDCA-model is a tool for analyzing the performance of producer organizations by looking at different indicators in three categories: internal organization, production and market.
Four organizations from the San Martin region participated in the workshop: ADISA, APAVAM, CAPEMA and Fruto de Selva. The workshop was greatly appreciated by the participants, who indicated that it was challenging but also rewarding to take the time to think about what they are doing well in their organizations and which areas could use some improvements. After completing this analysis and reflection, action plans were created to address how management and performance can be improved. The results of the workshop will be used by the Progreso Program, who hopes to build a stronger relationship with the four organizations to help them with strengthening and professionalization during the coming years.
