Great achievements in Kenya

Last September, Angel Mario Martinez, Coordinator of the Progreso Program visited the three organisations the programme works with in Kenya. During his visit, Angel Mario witnessed the results such groups achieved during the past years of collaboration. The productivity of the farms has been increasing and people are very motivated to work there again. This is also due to the current high prices paid for their coffee. It was great to see that organisations like Gakundu and Kagarri North are embracing organic production and starting to work towards it.
Ndumberi has made a lot of progress in the past years as well. Some of the progress has been of social character: by offering screening for cervical cancer to women in the cooperative, if discovered on time (as has been the case in 10 of the 500 women tested in the last round) women can receive more timely treatment attaining a better outcome.
